The NAFCC deplores the convening of a foreign correspondent

The NAFCC deplores the convening of a foreign correspondent in the office of the National Guard at Bardo area.
On Thursday, January the 11th, three members of the National Guard went to Mathieu Galtier’s home in Tunis to take him to the Bardo office to question him. Mathieu Galtier is a press correspondent for several French publications. The day before, the journalist was in the city of Tebourba to cover the demonstration against the high cost of living for the daily newspaper Libération. The security forces clearly asked him to disclose the identities and contacts of sources encountered in Tebourba.
While the NAFCC notes that the interview was conducted in a very courteous manner, it wishes to firmly recall the fundamental principles of freedom of press. A duly accredited journalist does not have to reveal his sources.
