The NAFCC supports RSF and the LCFP in their open letter to the head of the libyan National Union Government.

“Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and the Libyan Centre for Freedom of Press (LCFP) urge Libyan Prime Minister Fayez al Sarraj to intervene immediately to rescind all measures obstructing the work of international journalists and the Libyan correspondents of foreign media outlets.”

Le journaliste Rémy Pigaglio (La Croix, RTL) correspondant en Egypte depuis 2 ans, s’est vu interdire l’entrée sur le territoire égyptien lors de son arrivée à l’aéroport du Caire le lundi 23 mai 2016 après son retour de France. Accrédité par les autorités égyptiennes, détenteur d’un visa en règle, il a été placé en détention pendant 30h en zone internationale. Malgré l’intervention de l’ambassade de France, notre confrère a été refoulé sans aucun motif, sans aucun autre choix que de quitter le territoire.

The North Africa Foreign Correspondents’ Club was launched in Tunisia in early 2014. It represents the interests of journalists based in the region, working for international media.

The Club will act whenever it deems necessary, on behalf of its members to ensure that they can work freely. It regularly invites prominent guests and experts, for special sessions with its members. It also organises training sessions for its members.

The Club is a non-profit association, established under tunisian law and registered to the Official Gazette of the Republic of Tunisia on 6 november 2014.

The NAFCC also provides professional training to its members that includes: first aid, cyber-security, and security training.

The club will soon be hosting a two-day Hostile Environment Training course taught by the International News Safety Institute.
